Comma he couldn't have got done for indecent exposure because no-one could see his todger. In any other circumstances the most he'd have been charged with would be urinating in a public place (punishable with a fine of up to £1000). He pleaded guilty to an offence he didn't commit, probably seeing it as the quickest way to get released as per my earlier post.

From a Policing perspective, Command and Control is not easy during a protest and is made doubly hard with Counter protests or in this case, vigilante groups coming tooled up to guard statues, because provides a bit of a rush whilst there is no football.

It's likely they made an example of him, its easier to nap someone pissed up and in a small group than it is to nap someone pissed off and in a large group.

Idiot was lucky he did not get done for indecent exposure ( a common defence offered up by flashers in Court is they were taking bladder relief ). This was no bladder full. No public toilet, take relief in a dark alley move, no this guy was in full public view in broad daylight.

I agree about the sentence, I think you are a prat for your comment about BLM protestors.

I definitely enjoy the irony that this fine upstanding statue protector was there for the adrenaline rush of a bit of bother, had been on a massive bender and ended up pissing his Carling up a statue. If he had been a Hammer I would be more sympathetic but I am given to understand he is Spurs so Fuck him.

MPI, my point was that it's not an offence that anyone should do time for, had he been a BLM protestor the police probably would have held his cock for him.

Back to my original post, how has the law been applied here, consistently and fairly?

The Oman detained him and called the Police, accusing him of a hate crime.

The Police arrested him, gave him a few hours cell time and released him without charge during prayers to give him the best chance of slipping away quietly. We sent a letter of apology which was accepted.

The difference between him and statue boy? Not out in public view and most importantly, not caught on camera by the media and the Mosque didn't publish their CCTV footage

Any sentence for peeing in public is ridiculous in anycase. Has anyone ever been sentenced before for this?
When someone else only gets a caution for a public order offence that involved vandalism and criminal damage it's scandalous!

I don't understand why this bloke pleaded guilty to outraging public decency. That offence does not require intention to outrage, but a lack of such intention would be a factor for a jury to consider when deciding if the public would in fact be outraged. Maybe he was taking the practical approach of admitting an offence of which he may well be acquitted, when the alternative was a remand in custody longer than the likely sentence. All the same, a decent lawyer could have argued this point when seeking bail from magistrates or a Judge. A sentence of 2 weeks (only one in custody) shows how minor the court thought the matter.
